Hey LJ!

How neglectful have I been to you these days? I am so sorry. I have been checking in a little bit recently, because of the countless amount of spam, but I dont know if I could do that too you.

Well a little update of where I am to date... Survived South America (only just believe me, there was at least one very close call) and got back home. My friend Dan finally broke up with my cousin and there was much celebration by me with that one. Best of all I finally got a teaching job out in the country. Pretty cool, finally got to move out of home, the only downside is that it's 4 hours away, which means regular trips home is out of the question.

Well I'm glad to see you are ok LJ and that you haven't disappeared on me, like I seemed to have done for you. I know I spend more time on facebook lately, but that doesn't mean I love it any more than I love you. We'll keep in touch. Miss you! Bye

Love OBFreak

Been away for a about 5 days now and I'm currently in a little place in Brazil called Parati. Been out on a boat cruise around the coast today so I'm fairly tired now. Had a great few days in Rio seeing the sights. Sugarloaf mountain, Christ the Reedemer and we even checked out one of the favelas (slums). Been great so far!

This is only my second ever AMV. I made for the 2010 AVCON Iron Chef Competition in Adelaide

We were all given 3 different sources a week prior to the competition then 1 extra 'secret source' on the day. Our task was to make a music video using any or a number of the sources including 10 seconds of the mystery source in 24 hours.
This is what I came up with...

Oh and in case you were wondering, no I didn't win. I came in probably 3rd place out of 8 editors. It was a good year!

I did this a while back but never got round the guts to put it up, but I watched it again last night and thought it actually wasn't too bad for the majority for it.
*WARNING* - Beware there is some corn ahead

So this is how I thought the first meeting between Jack and the Doctor should have gone, after the events of the Children of Earth. I'm not a great writer, so here it is in video form.

This is very much an experiment and I still don't know what to think of it, so any feedback would be good, even if its "yeah that was lame"

Wow I have just noticed how long ago I posted a Who video... quite a while
Now I have watched the latest season of who and I gave the new cast a go and have since decided that I shall remain vidding Ten's journey through time and space. Dont get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who doesnt like it purely cause Tennant has gone, on the contrary, I can honnestly say that Amy and Rory are my favourite companions to date and some of the stories I really liked. Having said that I still cant warm to Matt Smith. He just doesnt really seem to actually DO anything untill the last 2 episodes. Ahhh well, hopefully it is just a phase, but for now I present more Ten goodness!

What is with this year? Not turning out to be the year I hoped it would be...
A good friend of mine lost her dad last night after a long and brave battle with cancer. He was such a great guy and he will be missed by all that knew him.
I will always remember the time I went up to the river with the Mitchell's for Easter and Terry taught me how to knee board and water ski. I was hopeless but he stuck with it. He also helped me rescue a toy bunny from the flames of a bonfire and kept him safe before sneaking it into my bag when we got home :D
He was a great man and as inspiration to us all. My sympathies are with Ashlee and her family during this time. Rest in Peace

I have made this video in memory of my amazing friend David, who was taken from us on April 16, 2010 aged just 24 years old. It highlights some of the great times we shared overseas back in 2007. Its mostly photo's of us and Dav mucking around with a couple of video clips thrown in too. This was painful to make, but I hope that people can see all the great things he did. I hope that in time I can look back on this and smile at all the great memories this video holds. Dav you were one of my closest friends I have ever had and I cherish all the memories I have of you. You were an amazing guy and you will be forever in my heart. Rest in Peace.

This is the hardest post I have ever written.
One of my best friends, David passed away on the 16th of April.
For those who knew him and want to know what happened, unfortunately I can't give you an answer. We are still in the dark about what happened to him. All we know is that he was on his laptop on facebook at 8.48am and was found not long after 9am by his brother. He was only 24 years old.
He was at home and all information would indicate that he died quickly and without warning.
We are still waiting on a coroners report to find exact cause of death, but we don't expect to get that for some time.

Dav was a fantastic guy. We went to Europe together in 2007. My favourite memory of him was in Barcelona after he had downed an entire bottle of johnny walker. He was out on the beach and I went out to see him. He had gone through about 3/4 of the bottle when I first caught his eye. I went over there and he was waving around this almost completed bottle, not making any sense at all. I wondered away and sat on the sand with some of the others from our group and about 10 minutes later he came running over. By then he had finished off the bottle and fell down next to me. "I Love you Shari!... as a Friend!"
Half an hour later I was helping my other friend Daniel and one of the other guys drag him off to the toilets to throw up again. From that day on it was our little thing. "I Love you Dav... as a friend" and I always did.

David you one of a few people that I could call a true friend and I will forever remember you and miss you. You are so special to me and I will always cherish each and every memory I shared with you. Rest in Peace.

This is just a quick video I did for a 'Gareth David-Loyd Video' Comp.
The idea was to use as many aspects of his work to make a video no longer than 3 minutes long...
Unfortunately because I don't have any of his other works and cant download anything at the moment, it turned out to be all Torchwood clips and thus, just a Ianto video in the end.
Despite all of this, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out considering how little time I spent on it. My very first Ianto vid...

I have just had an amazing couple of last days. It all started on Thursday morning when I flew out to Sydney to go stay with my friend Kelly up there. Had nothing really to do, so I took a couple of buses to Bondi Beach for a couple of hours to walk around and watch the surfers (and the life guards)then headed into the city down around circular quay to have a walk around the harbour/Opera House/Botanical Gardens.

Friday was pretty uneventful during the day but late afternoon Kelly and I met up with Stella and one of her friends then headed over to Manly for something to eat, then over to the Quarantine Station for a ghost tour. It was alright, guide wasn't that great but it was still fun. Really didn't like one of the rooms. It freaked me out!

Saturday was epic. Stargate Convention! Guests included: Christopher Judge, Dan Shea, Conner Trinneer, David Nykl, Ben Browder, Claudia Black, Gigi Edgley(Farscape), David Blue and *drum roll please* Richard Dean Anderson!!!
Can I just say OMFG! It was beyond cool. Chris and Dan took off their shirts and were doing bare knuckle push ups on stage (SOOooo Hot) Dan in general is just the funniest guy ever. He cracked me up continuously. Loved David Nykl and Conner too. David Blue was cute, he's such a fan boy himself. And of course RDA... what can I say, it was so cool. He seems just like O'Neill its funny. Completely hopeless at trivia from the show but still entertaining. Spent a fortune but still had a good time. Kelly picked me up for Mexican and icecream at Bondi, then we caught Shutter Island at her local cinema. (That movie is weird and messed up... but good)

Sunday was huge as well too. Had to be at the airport by 7.30am. Got back to Adelaide, went home then had to go out play a cricket match despite the crappy weather. Was completely hopeless cause I'm sick with a chest infection and couldn't run without gasping for breath. We lost the game as usual (I am officially declaring myself to be the most useless player on our team) then after that home in time for a shower then was off to the city with my friend Anna to see Frank Woodley at the Fringe... Was funny as Hell! Went out after for desert after. Great night.

As a result am doing absolutely nothing on this public holiday Monday. Slept in till noon and am just soaking in the awesomeness that has been the last few days.

To all you Aussies around the world, I'd just like to wish you all a...

Good day in the end, although a little uneventful. A night of Roast Lamb and Cocktails has made the difference. I am currently all warm and fuzzy on my 3rd drink, this one being a bright reddy-purple colour cause i put too much red stuff in it...

On another note, super excited cause I just published a website! I've never done it before so its exciting. Its basically just an archive for all my fan vids, but I've been working on it for about 4 days now, so it's just super cool to see it up there and working with all the pretty pictures and tricky little links (which i swear took way longer than it should). Should anyone wish to take a gander the link is here: OBFreak Video Archive

I'm back as promised with this new vid. I have been working on it for ooooohhhh... at least 12 months I recon. That's not to say it took a year to make, just that I am really slack and it took me that long to get my act together. In fact it's been sitting on my computer for about 3 of those months basically finished... Yeah I'm completely hopeless.
Hope people enjoy it

Big thanks again to paraka for making all of this possible.
New Life on Mars Vid should be up in the next couple of days

Gah I am so over where I live!!!
The whole internet thing is just pissing me off to the extremes! Stupid Adelaide, full of useless blackspots where you cant get broadband. I just so happen to live in one of these stupid spots, whereas my aunt, 3 streets away can get it no problem. I live 30 mins outside the capital, yet my friends who live like 50mins out, get not only normal broadband but super speedy broadband for a fraction of the price Im paying for this stupid little portable thing which keeps dropping out every half hour, right when I'm in the middle of doing something, forcing me to reboot my computer to get it running again. Not to mention that if I go over my 6GB a month quota I end up having to sell a kidney just to pay the bill. GAHHHHHH! What kind of backhole city do I live in, that lets this bullshit happen?!
Not only that, but between my brother and my parents dog, I'm gonna go insane if I stay here any longer. Unfortunately my Teacher's Registration hasn't gone through in time, so my only hope with getting enough cash to move out any time soon is to get some relief work, which scares me because I remember how we treated our relief teachers when I was at school...

On a completely separate note, I cannot for the life of me remember how old I am. Which is quite alarming considering I'm only 22 or 23...

As my new years resolution is to get back into Vidding and Live Journal, I've started by slowly re-uploading my old vids to my a new server, I have also decided to share this little creation I haven't had the guts to show before...
This is the very first AMV I have ever made. It was done after much nagging by lockstock_ for AVCON last year. It was done as an iron chef competition which means that I only had 24 hours to choose a song, look at the selection of clips I was given and come up with something half decent.
As part of the rules I had to use at least one of three different sources I didn't see until the day, plus a minimum of 10 seconds from a 'secret source'. Considering I have never seen any anime (little own any of these) I think I did a pretty decent job (Still didn't win though)

So its 2010... HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The last 10 years have been both amazingly great and brain shattering bad. The years of my higher education. I started high school, finished high school, started and finished uni. People and Pets have died, but on the other hand, I have made a whole heap of new friends. I travelled parts of the world I once only dreamed of... can't wait to see what the next 10 years brings.

On another note, saw David Tennant's last episode of Dr Who... Wow
Not sure about the episodes themselves, but I was soooo sad to see DT go. That really is an end of an era! More behind the cut (Spoilers ahead)

The End of TimeCollapse )

In Celebration of David's Doctor, here are my top 5 Episodes of his:
1. Human Nature/Family of Blood (Season 3)
2. Midnight (Season 4)
3. Smith and Jones (Season 3)
4. 42 (Season 3)
5. Planet of the Dead (2009 Special)

On the Vid front, It has become my New Years Resolution to finish all the Music videos I have started over the last 2 years (there's a lot of them) So there ya go.
And thanks to paraka I can now actually show people, so stay tuned for those who are interested.
02 November 2009 @ 08:06 pm
Wow I suck!
I suck at a lot of things, but I'm best at not posting. I should really try to pick it back up again! Facebook is killing my livejournal!!!
Just to let people know if they're interested (I've had a couple of comments lately) that the vid hosting site I normally use is down and I don't think it will be back again, so I'll have to try find some other way to show them.
Also I'm still alive and still vidding, I just have this problem where I start a video, get half way through then watch a vid by Hollywoodgrrl or humansrsuperior then feel like an amateur then get scared off it for a while. I have about 8 that are nearly finished and another 6 or so that have been started... So one day...

On another more personal note, just got back from a trip to melbourne. Had a good time but now im just really depressed. My pet rat died the night before I left. I get home this afternoon and see the spot where his cage used to be, on top of that my brother is giving me shit. I wish he'd get a life and move out. Or that I could get enough money to move out. I cant live with him anymore!

23 tomorrow...

So I have been working on this on and off for I'm guessing 9 months and only now have I finally stopped procrastinating enough to do so. I have actually had it on the net for several days now, but I have been really sick the last couple of days, then I got hit a big blow yesterday and have been feeling down, but screw it all, this is way more important!
This was a video requested to me by nightswhisper AGES ago, who gave me this song and said "Make a vid" (well maybe not like that exactly) I listened to the song and loved it. This idea then sprouted up into my head and now here's what I finally came up with. Hope this is was what you were hoping for Cas.
Huge thanks to lockstock_ as always, who pretty much co-worked on it with me.(Well he stole it for a month or so and messed with it when I wasn't looking)The improvements are great and as always thanks for telling me whats crap and whats not, cheers.

:O She’s back!
No Way!!
So what’s new with me? Well I'm on uni holidays at the moment, busy playing poker and loosing all the time. Still waiting for my brother to come home, missing him a lot at the moment. Started to go to the Chiropractor last week and discovered that my neck in particular is completely screwed, which would explain the pain I'm getting in it all the time. It's gonna cost me a fortune and take forever, but I have real hopes for it. Oh and I solved a rubik cube puzzle! My life ambition has now been fulfilled. I can now add that to my resume.

The other good news is that I'm finally gonna go meet David Hewlett! Yay! I’m heading over to Melbourne for my 22nd Birthday to go see Wicked and thought I would hit the Armageddon convention. That way I will also get to see Michael Shanks and David Anders!!! So exciting! I have also been talked into entering some videos into the AMV competition, so I have finally stopped procrastinating and have now almost finished a couple. I will get them up very, very shortly, so watch this space if your interested.
I figured I’ll enter these 2 doctor who ones when I finish and then perhaps one of my old SGA ones, still haven’t decided which one yet. Anywho I best be off. Got to go to cricket training and then get back to this video, running out of time till the holidays finish. Later

I feel like I have been neglecting my LJ, I must remember to try to update more often. Good news is that my school teaching prac is officially over and I thought it went rather well all things considering. Loved my year 8 and 9 SOSE classes. Made up a blindfold "what it was like to be a convict in solitary confinement" game, which was a huge success. A shame, it finished when it did, I was just stating to feel like I fitted in.

My new laptop is doing much better, thanks to some time by Lockstock, who is actually flying out to America as I type this. Have an Awesome trip dude! Bring back lots of photos!!!

Travelling up to QLD on Wed to see my brother and go to his graduation. He will officially be an Air Field Defence Guard in the Australian Air Force - so proud of him. He's then coming back down to Adelaide, until they can organise a full time job for him. He's moving in with my cousin who I have corrupted into playing poker every second night. I have to seriously stop or I'll run out of money before I can earn it.

Babysitting right now actually. Gah, trouble kids. They kept coming in the house making some lame excuse about looking for seeds in the frigde, then smuggling stuff away. I just snuck around the side of the house then, to find them making some discusing mud, grass thing, and cracking an egg into it.

Ah the joys of being a kid. On a seperate note, according to a Nintendo DS game, I have the brain of a 62 year old, which my mother finds absolutely hilarious. :(
20 July 2008 @ 12:19 am
Had the weirdest dream the other night... It was a combination of 3 tv shows, one which I think I made up for the convenience of the story (which made no sense, yet always does in a dream) Life on Mars, in which Sam was a psychopathic drug dealer bent on taking everyone down (not cool) and CSI: NY which I dont even watch! Then I somehow ended up in Prison (that bit surprisingly does make sense - long story) and then then witness to something which involved a very old town, possibly old London and then it gets fuzzy :S Anyway, it was awesome!
Now for a rant.
Computer! Brand new laptop and it has started to turn on me already. My video editing program has shat itself so i cant work on any for who knows how long! I was almost finished 2 off them too! GAH! Worse of all, I actually feel like vidding now and I cant! :(
House is a total mess and has been like a construction site for a while now, getting renovations.
Cant drive for a couple of days which also sucks (long story) and I have to start prac teaching on Monday which is just shit scary. I Get to teach a whole group of year 9's about Australian History, and year 8's about Vikings... I know nothing about Vikings!.. What the Hell is a Viking?! Therefore I have spent the last day or two researching. I have found out I knew more than I thought. One of their god's is 'Thor' of 'Asgard'... Thank god for Stargate...
17 June 2008 @ 06:58 pm
Well I just arrived back from a short trip to Sydney with my mum. Had a great couple of days! Went to see Billy Elliot, took a visit to Taronga Zoo and saw the funniest demented pelican of all time. Lol, his name was Marney and he reminded me of a unruly puppy when your trying to train them. What else? Took a nice walk around the rocks, saw the harbour, went over to Manley and caught up with my hubby! (Kelly from my Contiki trip) Man it was good to see her again, it was just like old times. I'm gonna have to try catch up with some more people.

On a similar note, I have finished my Contiki music video a while back, but figured I should have a link to it somewhere so here it is: Here

And on another note, I have just come across the videos of humansrsuperior. Just let me say... OMG! I want to be able to vid like that! I haven't got around to watching them all yet, but from what I've seen, they are amazing. She even does life on mars videos! I have hardly seen any LOM vids, anyone have any other good ones they can point me in the direction of? My favourite of HRS has to be the doctor who ones though. Memorable mentions go to 'My one Mistake'. 'Partners in Crime' and my personal favourite video of all time 'All to Dust' (Link here:vid I absolutely LOVE this video

Oh and speaking of Dr Who, Loved the latest episode I am also slightly giddy with excitement for next week.
